• Membership: The club has around 50 members.

  • Programme: Talks and exhibitions are given by outside speakers on both special and general interest. There are also club evenings on particular topics. During the season there are four internal competitions and three inter-club competitions.

  • Do ask if you want help or advice. There is such a huge range of cameras and equipment available; no one person can be an expert on everything but there is usually someone in the club with the same or similar equipment.

  • Digital manipulation. A complex topic with a huge range of opinions ranging from love to hate. There are some opportunities to learn about it during the year but it may be possible to arrange extra meetings devoted to working with a computer.

  • Competitions : Full details of our competitiions may be viewed here:

  • Slides: these are no longer eligible for entry into club or Alliance competitions.

  • Digital Projected Images: These are eligible for entry in club competitions. Entries should conform to the current competition rules.

  • Scoring: each image is given a mark out of twenty.

  • Do not be afraid to enter the competitions since it is a way of gaining confidence in your abilities and learning how to improve your standard. The authorship of a judged image is kept anonymous unless the image scores 17 or higher - so you have nothing to lose by entering!

  • Inter-club competitions:
There are currently two of these during the season each club choosing ten prints and ten slides which are judged independently.

  • End of Year Competitions.
There are a number of these at the end of the Club Season ( March/April) that enable you to submit your best DPI's and prints of the year to independent judging. See the Competitions submenu.
